Tire/Road Rolling Resistance Modeling: Discussing the Surface Macrotexture Effect

چکیده
This paper deals with the modeling of rolling resistance and analysis effect pavement texture. The Rolling Resistance Model (RRM) is a simplification no-slip rate Dynamic Friction (DFM) based on tire/road contact intended to predict tire/pavement friction at all slip rates. experimental validation this approach was performed using machine simulating tires road surfaces. tested surfaces have wide range textures from smooth macro-micro-rough, thus covering likely be encountered roads. A comparison between resistances those predicted by model shows good correlation, an R2 exceeding 0.8. correlation MPD (mean profile depth) also shown. It noticed that random distribution pointed shape summits may inconvenience concerning resistance, leading conclusion beyond macrotexture, positivity texture should taken into account. possible neglecting damping part in constitutive rubber noted.

متن کاملSignificance of Heat Conduction Parameter along the Rolling Direction in the Thermal Modeling of the Hot Rolling Process
Obtaining temperature distribution data of slabs under rolling is essential as the mechanical and metallurgical properties of the metal under this process vary with temperature. Using the control volume method, a mathematical model is employed in this study to predict slab temperature in the hot roll process at Mobarakeh Steel Company. The effects of different parameters including the heat resu...
متن کاملThe Effect of Rolling Temperature on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Surface-Densified Powder Metallurgy Fe-Based Gears Prepared by the Surface Rolling Process
In this investigation, the surface-rolling process was performed to improve the performance of PM (powder metallurgy) parts. Different rolling temperatures were applied and the effect of rolling temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the surface dense layers in the samples were investigated. In the study, room temperature and temperatures of 100 ◦C, 200 ◦C, 300 ◦C were s...
متن کاملEffect of chitosan on the mold resistance of wood and its surface properties
In this study, the effect of soluble chitosan, thyme oil and linseed oil on the mold resistance of wood and its surface properties was investigated. Both low and medium molecular weight chitosan with concentration of 1 and 2% were used. Cypress wood samples with dimensions of 20 × 20 × 70 mm and moisture content of 12% were saturated by the preservatives. The results showed that the maximum abs...
